Dr. Leichter1 received his D.M.D. degree from Tufts University2, after which he was awarded a Fellowship in Periodontics at Harvard University3, where his clinical research team developed stem cell transplantation techniques for periodontal bone regeneration. Following several years of teaching these procedures at Harvard, Tufts and hospitals in the Boston area, Dr. Leichter relocated to South Florida where he shared his tissue regenerative protocols with local practitioners and students at Nova Southeastern University4, Florida Atlantic University5 and the Atlantic Coast Dental Research Center6.
Dr. Leichter is currently developing new techniques in esthetic and reconstructive periodontics, in order to bring beautiful healthy smiles to a broad range of people. His core team of professionals has practiced together in Boca Raton for over 30 years and offers all types and levels of sedation, analgesia and anesthesia to assure comfortable, stress-free care for all.
While Dr. Leichter is confident in his practice and his ability to most effectively determine an accurate diagnosis that allows for both traditional and holistic treatments, he encourages any patient who may feel uncertain about invasive or extensive treatment to seek additional professional opinions to ensure that they are fully informed, and confident in their choice of provider. He emphasizes the following as key responsibilities on the part of the patient:
A good doctor should be able to explain all the benefits and risks of your treatment plan, along with an accurate diagnosis and prognosis.
Dr. Leichter has been providing quarterly pro-bono multi-media didactic and clinical presentations on Periodontal Regeneration to university students awaiting entrance to dental school at FAU since 2013. In the 1980′s, Dr. Leichter pioneered the use of dental implants for immediate tooth replacement, and in the 1990′s introduced office-based tomography to assist with precision diagnostics.
