At Boca Perio Implants, we understand that unfortunately, life is not like it is on the silver screen and not everyone will have a perfect set of teeth. If dental treatment should become necessary then you might find that you need one, two or even several teeth removed. Through the use of sedation, local anaesthetic and proper patient care, the removal of teeth need not be an uncomfortable or a traumatic experience.
The dentists at Boca Perio Implants have had extensive training and experience in the areas of tooth extractions1. We also utilize the industry’s highest quality materials and standards of care. This means you can relax with the knowledge that you are in safe hands!
While a tooth might not be infected, or gum disease has not set in due to a result of poor oral health, there may still come the need to remove a tooth in the event that other teeth require more space to move in order to create a straighter, more aesthetically pleasing smile. Tooth extraction is often the last resort, and it isn’t the norm for children because their teeth are still growing. But if the dentist decides that extraction is needed, rest assured we will thoroughly explain the procedure to ensure any fears are erased.
If the tooth cannot be removed under local anaesthetic, surgery may be needed. This is a slightly more invasive treatment but one that is completely safe in the hands of the experienced dentists at Boca Perio Implants. Though surgical extraction2 may sound scary, the alternative is for the infected tooth to stay in the mouth and that is definitely not advised. We will be more than happy to talk you through the procedure.
Unlike other teeth, wisdom teeth often have multiple roots. This means the process of removing wisdom teeth3 need not be as painful as any regular extraction as the roots can be easily located. If you are in pure agony as a result of your wisdom teeth coming through, it is suggested that you discuss this issue with us as resolving this issue sooner rather than later is often the best route.
There are a number of reasons why you might need one or several teeth removed via extraction. These include gum disease, tooth decay and even a broken tooth which is beyond repair. When extraction is needed there is no amount of painkillers or antibiotics that will cure the problem as the cause of it will still remain.
